Ari is a determined kindergartener who can't wait to become a big girl. She's curious, confident, imaginative, and full of opinions about how things should go.
In Ari's Way, her first chronicle, something as simple as losing her favorite spot on the classroom reading rug becomes a very big deal. Ari is sure she knows how to fix the problem—but over the course of the story, she begins to see the situation, and herself, a little differently.
At the heart of Ari's adventures is a bigger question: Who will Ari choose to be?
Each experience gives her another chance to figure that out.

What I'm looking for
I'm looking for an artist who can capture Ari's personality—not just what she looks like, but what she's thinking and feeling before she ever says a word.
The illustrations should feel warm, expressive, playful, and full of life, with strong facial expressions, body language, humor, and those little visual moments children notice.
Ari already has an established character design. I'm looking for someone who can take that foundation and help bring her story and the world around her to life.

You do not need to be a published children's book illustrator or have a professional portfolio website to be considered.

COMPENSATION
$2,000 flat project fee
This is a paid illustration opportunity. The selected artist will receive a $2,000 flat fee for the completed project, paid in agreed-upon installments.
Full scope, deliverables, revision terms, timeline, and ownership terms will be discussed and agreed upon before work begins.
